PCB Fabrication and DFM Review
Review board construction, stack-up, materials, surface finish and panelization together with the assembly requirements. HDI and multilayer options are assessed against the released design.
HDI PCB capabilitiesComponent Sourcing
Identify manufacturer part numbers, approved alternatives, customer-supplied parts and items that must not be substituted. Component availability and sourcing responsibilities are confirmed before the production schedule is agreed.
SMT, THT and Mixed Assembly
Assembly review covers component packages, orientation, polarity, board handling and soldering requirements. Fine-pitch and BGA designs require review of the complete PCB and assembly data; suitability is confirmed for each project.
Inspection and Test Planning
Specify the required AOI, X-ray, in-circuit or functional test coverage when requesting a quote. Confirm acceptance criteria, firmware, fixtures and reports in advance. Test methods and availability depend on the assembly and agreed scope.
From Project Files to Delivery
- Submit the PCB files, BOM, assembly drawings, quantities and delivery requirements.
- Resolve engineering questions and confirm sourcing, inspection and test scope.
- Approve the quotation and released revision before procurement and production.
- Complete the agreed assembly checks, documentation, packing and shipment.
What Determines PCBA Lead Time?
The schedule depends on engineering approval, PCB complexity, component availability, quantity and test preparation. Request separate timing for material procurement, PCB fabrication, assembly and shipping. A prototype schedule should not be assumed to apply to a repeat production order with changed files or materials.
